When porn star icon John Holmes stopped making films, he was involved in a series of gangland murders over drugs. There is little background to establish the main character, and the constant drug taking by persons that evoke so little empathy eventually becomes weary - does anyone really care what happens to them at all? There's some nice editing to convey a sense of the psychological effect of drugs, but this has been done before and it is less than arresting to a seasoned filmgoer - in fact it is almost a distraction after a while as the central story revolves not around drug addiction but on the criminal activities surrounding it. A keyhole view of a minor celeb and not a very satisfying one!
