Review of The Talented Mr Ripley on Filmviews.net
Year1999 ReviewerChris Docker
Over-rated mystery movie where the audience knows the answer and the main character doesn't. Someone pretends to be him, and we are repeatedly impressed when, against all odds, he doesn't get caught out. Ho hum. The first half can be slept through without missing anything of importance. The action starts in the second half. An ingenious script keeps the gag going as the plot gets darker.
