Review of The Man Who Wasnt There on Filmviews.net

This Coen Bros tour-de-force won them the Best Director award at Cannes this year (tying with David Lynch for Mulholland Drive). Moody film-noir shot in black and white, tightly scripted and quirky as any other Coen Bros film, but definitely a class act. The understated story forcefully told is about a scheme to get a little revenge on a wife and her lover and how the scheme goes very wrong. It has all the feel of a 40s crime movie but the focus is on the characters and their personal lives.
