Film Review of My Little Eye
Year: 2002 Reviewer: Chris Docker
A very watchable, largely British, horror movie, capitalising on the current vogue for Big Brother TV, but with a story twist that the webcams go straight to video viewers. As the inmates fight against the desire to leave (which would mean they all forfeit the prize money) the plot gets nastier and nastier. Even when you see some of it coming, the shocks are delivered with such panache that they still hit you like an electric shock. The lively treatment, with naturalistic camera-work and creepy webcam night shots, together with some great acting, serve to make My Little Eye stand out from the many lookalike Big Brother' movies or the ultimate plotlessness of visually similar efforts such as the Blair Witch Project.
