Film Review of Meet the Parents
Year: 2000 Reviewer: Chris Docker
This is great comedy that always keeps you guessing and holding your breath for the next gag. Robert De Niro slips into a humorous role of an ex-CIA man who is overbearingly suspicious of his daughter's intended (Ben Stiller) and does so with dignity and savoire faire. The outrageous story line as Stiller tries to impress his future father-in-law and digs himself in deeper and deeper is so well acted and well-told that it is easy to forgive the glitches (like, why would a sophisticated young woman with an impeccable background want to marry a total dick-head) and enjoy the film. One to laugh all the way through to from start to end.
