Film Review of Analyze This
Year: 1999 Reviewer: Chris Docker
Comedies about gangsters where the violence is watered down to pre-school level don't really convince me. This is not a side splitter - and it doesn't have the originality of the Director's famous and more successful effort, Groundhog Day.
There's a few tolerable laughs - but when nearly every line is played for laughs it becomes like a stand-up comedian forced to keep going for 90 minutes. The cameo by Billy Crystal towards the end is a real treat though.
