Film Review of A Room for Romeo Brass
Year: 1999 Reviewer: Chris Docker
A Room for Romeo Brass an unexpectedly emotionally satisfying movie. Two lads growing up and their respective families. No great brain power needed to follow it. The film's charm lies in the seeming authenticity of the characters - especially the natural humour evoked by the day-to-day interactions of children. When one of the characters shows his inner strength, the acting and dialogue seem to go beyond anything that could be scripted - they seem to have come from real life - which is why the film is genuinely uplifting. An understated film with a hidden punch - definitely worth seeing.
